The Chris Flier Award is presented to the top student at the Club Racing Driver’s School hosted by St. Louis Region.  This year the award went to Rick Sisk of Washington, MO.  Sisk drives a 1991 Mazda Miata.

The award includes an article detailing Flier’s background.  Here’s a portion from the article.  “He was a second-generation motorsports competitor who left his own indelible mark on this world.  He taught us many things.  He taught us to race.  He taught us to be well-prepared.  He taught us the importance of the friendships and camaraderie within the SCCA.  He taught us how modesty, courtesy, and silent strength can speak volumes.  He taught us the importance of living life to the fullest and making the most of every moment, as life can change in an instant.”  We unfortunately lost Chris Flier all too soon in February of 2002 at the age of 34.

St. Louis Region is proud to recognize a student at our Driver’s School who demonstrates the same characteristics as Chris.

We are also delighted to recognize and welcome, along with Sisk, eight additional new Club Racers:  Christopher Adkins, Tom Barribo, Travis Duvall, Justin Lautz, Erich Pfalzgraf, Hans Saurino, Joshua Saurino, and Matthew Van Zante.

The students all gave positive feedback on the school and one even commented, “I learned things I didn’t know I needed to know.”

Thanks to our instructors:  Jim Fiss (Chief Instructor), Chuck Mathis, Bill Miller, Sid Raile, and Peter Zekert.
