Volunteers needed for Driving School

October 4, 2010

The St. Louis Region of the SCCA is preparing to deliver their first Tire Rack Street Survival® Teen Driving School on Saturday, October 30, 2010 at Gateway International Raceway. Following the fine example set by the St. Louis Region of the BMW CCA, our team is eager to expand this great work and provide another opportunity for teenagers to be helped by this life saving program. Our hope is to offer more of these events next year, and as such, we are looking for new faces to increase our pool of volunteers.

We are seeking volunteers to serve as in-car driving instructors as well as volunteers to serve a variety of on-track and safety related roles. We are currently planning on a class of 35 students and are looking for 40 in-car instructors and another 10-20 volunteers to help at this event. There will be a meeting the week prior to the event for In-Car Instructors which will be lead by Rich Wise. Details on the time and location will be announced soon.

If you are available on Saturday, October 30, 2010 and would like to volunteer, please reply to this message or contact one of the individuals below.

Kevin J. Brown – Event Lead

Rich Wise – Instructor Lead

Carla Russo – Volunteer Coordinator

We hope you will join us or refer a friend to help with this life saving program.

If you know of students between the age of 15 and 21 that could benefit from this program, please refer them to the program website for more details and registration information. http://www.streetsurvival.org.
