September Board of Director’s Meeting

Old Business:

June Minutes: Jan moved to approve the August minutes as written minutes. Susan seconded. Passed.

Treasurer’s Report:

Detailed reports were posted on the BoD Yahoo site. Club Racing lost about $5700 and PDX lost $4900. Solo shows a gain of $9000, but there is still one event to go and the year end awards have not been purchased. Performance Rally showed a substantial gain. The Region has about $114,000 in cash in several accounts.

Program Reports:

Solo – April Schardthorst reported Event 10 was held on August 15th. There were 106 entrants. The Test ‘N Tune on August 22nd had 40 entrants. Two new members were signed up at each event. The End of the Year event is October 17th. The SAC is looking for additional sites in case Gateway closes. The BoD discussed the search for sites.

Club Racing – Bryon Prokopf reported that the Club Racing committee is working on dates for 2011. They are looking at moving the first race from March to May. The BoD had a long discussion of dates and the number of races for 2011. The Club Racing committee will be invited to make a presentation to the BoD at the October meeting. The committee will be asked to discuss 2011 dates, sponsorship, history of entry numbers,etc. The Region will request two race weekends, but may cancel one. Tim Weatherford has been added to the committee.

Performance Rally – No report this month.

Rally-X – Jan has asked Gateway to piggyback Rally-X onto the Solo contract for 2011.
Road Rally –No report.
PDX– There are no events scheduled for September. The next event is Wednesday, October 13th.
Drifting- No report. They have a full schedule with the Midnight Madness events at Gateway.

Other Business:

Membership Report – We currently have 596 members. We are at a growth rate of 11%.

Social Events- 2011 Board of Director candidates will be announced at the September social. The October social will be an opportunity to meet the candidates. A formal meeting will follow the November social. The election will take place at that meeting.

Street Survival- Many of our members will be working with the BMW club at their school in September. Our school will be October 30.

Elections- The candidates so far:

Regional Executive: Steven Burkett and Jan Rick

Assistant RE: Chuck Deprow, Dave Jones, and Cesare Venegoni

Treasurer: Lon Friesenborg and Jose Hernandez

Secretary: Steve Slotten and Lynn Wilson

At Large: Dana Hullinger

Bookkeeping- Contracting is in process. A contract has been submitted to April Schnardhorst.

Gateway- Jan reported on the status of Gateway. The BoD directs the Club Racing program to remove its equipment for Gateway no later than October 15th. The BoD authorizes the Club Racing committee to spend $50 per month to store the equipment. The Solo bus and trailer will be removed from Gateway following the End of the Year event on October 17th.

New Business:

New track- A letter will be sent to Dan Govero supporting the new race track. The letter will also state the anticipated usage of the facility by the Region per program.
